Charges: My charges are £70 per therapy hour (50 mins), whether for an introductory or a ‘standard’ session. If you are a student in full time education, I am happy to discuss a reduced fee.
Payment is at the end of each session by cash or bank transfer. I will provide an invoice if required.
Number of sessions: I generally suggest a set number of sessions, 16 or 24 being the norm which is a focussed 4-6 month investment in your mental and emotional wellbeing. I also work on a more flexible, open-ended basis and/or I offer ‘MOT’-type review sessions. We will discuss what might work best for you at our initial meeting.
Confidentiality: Confidentiality and privacy will be respected and maintained. Our work together though will be regularly overseen by an external qualified clinical supervisor who abides by the same rules of confidentiality as myself.
Information about clients is not disclosed to others outside the above unless this is: (a) required by a court of law or (b) there is a risk of serious harm to you or others. In this case we will discuss the best next step. If necessary and with your permission, I will contact your next of kin or your GP.
Cancellation: If you cancel a session at less than 24 hours’ notice, I reserve the right to charge a full session fee.
If you do not keep a contracted session and do not inform me of your wish to leave, I will assume that you have ended the therapeutic relationship and that any outstanding session fees will be paid.
Ending a session prematurely: I will be unable to see you should you arrive under the influence of alcohol or un-prescribed drugs and I will terminate a session if you become aggressive or violent.
Ending our time together: If you or I feel you need additional therapy I cannot offer, I will discuss this with you and suggest a referral.
Good professional practice: As a member of the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT) and of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their Codes of Ethics and Guidelines. These can be found on their websites: https://acat.org.uk and www.bacp.co.uk
Insurance: I am insured through Towergate Insurance
